Our Story

After a visit from friends and serving porridge for breakfast, they encouraged us to make it available to buy.  So we started and slowly expanded.  It is a part-time cottage industry, which has grown in popularity.

Maize grown on the farm is coarsely milled for our mealie meal.  We try to use non GMO maize.  The whole kernel is milled - nothing is added or removed as nature intended it.

 
Unfortunately we cannot grow the sweet red sorghum required for the Amabele, so rely on off-farm sources, and this is not always available.
